Meet Lena.

Lena and her husband successfully survived the college process with their four kids. Receiving college counseling for one of her daughters inspired Lena to return to her alma mater, UCLA, where she was awarded her Certificate in College Counseling with Distinction in 2016 and has been advising students in the college process ever since.
To stay current on the ever-changing college admissions landscape, she visits colleges regularly and receives ongoing education through the Independent Educational Consultants Association and the Western Association for College Admissions Counseling.
Lena is a Comprehensive Review Reader of Freshmen and Transfer Applications for the University of California, Irvine.
Lena is a graduate of UCLA, earning a BA in Psychology with a Specialization in Business Administration. She and her family currently reside in Orange, California.
Philosophy
College is a time of self-discovery and significant growth towards independence.
To this end, I find it essential for students to take responsibility and ownership in their college process. In working with students, I assign a bit of homework (to save you $) and encourage them to be actively involved in their choices.
I love working with students, learning who they are, and working to showcase their best qualities for colleges to see. There is a college for every student, and together we look for the best-fit environments for yours to grow.
I believe each student is uniquely gifted and wired by God, and I hope to come alongside to provide many options come college decision time. I limit the number of students I take each year to ensure I have ample time to help each one toward their college goals.
“Mrs. Kobayashi took the time to get to know me as an individual so that she could help me convey my true personality and thoughts throughout my essays.”
